Fetzima (levomilnacipran) is prescribed for the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder, mainly in adults. It belongs to the group of drugs called serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs.) It works to help restore the balance of the neurotransmitters serotonin and norepinephrine, which are involved in the movement of signals between nerve cells.
SNRIs primarily targets the neurotransmitter norepinephrine, which plays a role in regulating mood and mental stability. By inhibiting serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake, Fetzima raises the levels of these neurotransmitters in the brain.
Dosage
Dosing varies from patient to patient, and the levels and regime will be set by the prescribing doctor. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible, but if it is close to the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and go back to the regular dosing schedule. Do not double-dose to make up for missed doses.
