Excessive vitamin C intake: Taking more than 2,000 mg of vitamin C daily can cause stomach issues such as diarrhea and nausea.
Excessive Zinc intake can cause nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, cramps, diarrhea, and headaches.
Excessive vitamin D intake: Taking too much vitamin D can increase calcium absorption, leading to very high calcium levels in the blood and causing nausea, vomiting, muscle weakness, mood changes, pain, loss of appetite, dehydration, frequent urination, excessive thirst, and kidney stones.
Excessive intake of licorice root: Consuming large amounts of licorice root or using it long-term may cause high blood pressure and low potassium levels.
Like all supplements and medications, there are potential side effects that may or may not be experienced. The active ingredients in Active Guard are unlikely to induce side effects, but if taken alongside other supplements containing these ingredients, side effects may be experienced.
Not all side effects are listed here. If these or other unlisted symptoms persist or worsen, consult a healthcare provider or pharmacist.
Vitamin C: Vitamin C, known for its role as an antioxidant and immune booster, is suggested to help prevent or treat various health issues.
Zinc: Research suggests that zinc may lessen cold symptoms by stopping the virus in the nose and reducing inflammation. If taken soon after symptoms start, zinc supplements seem to shorten the duration (not severity) of colds.
Vitamin D3: Vitamin D also affects the immune system and may help regulate the body’s natural defense system.
Bald licorice extract: In both Eastern and Western medicine, licorice root has been used to treat the common cold. It works as a soothing agent and helps clear phlegm.
Astragalus extract: Astragalus is believed to boost the immune system and has antioxidant properties.
