Zoryve 0.3% cream (generic name: roflumilast) is prescribed for the topical treatment of plaque psoriasis in adults and pediatric patients aged six and older. Zoryve 0.15% cream is prescribed for the topical treatment of atopic dermatitis in adults and pediatric patients aged six and older. Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic, relapsing inflammatory skin disease that appears as a red, itchy rash. It’s the most common type of eczema, affecting millions of people in the US. Plaque psoriasis is the most common type of psoriasis, causing dry, raised, red patches of skin covered in silvery scales. Plaques most often appear on the elbows and knees, but can also appear on the scalp, trunk, and limbs, especially the elbows and knees. They can be itchy or sore, or both. Plaque psoriasis is an auto-immune problem caused by an over reacting response system, causing inflammation, which leads to new skin cells growing too fast. In healthy skin, new skin cells typically grow every 28 to 30 days. But when there is plaque psoriasis, new cells grow and move to the skin’s surface every three to four days.
