Most people who use Vemlidy do not experience any adverse side effects. Doctors prescribe this medication because they assess the benefits of such treatment outweigh any likely unwanted effects.
Some of the side effects that have been reported include headaches, abdominal pain, fatigue, cough, nausea, and back pain. In some cases, Vemlidy may cause serious side effects, including new or worsening kidney problems and high levels of lactic acid in the blood (lactic acidosis). If the use of the medication is discontinued without first referring to a doctor, it can lead to the worsening of hepatitis B infection.

By reducing the amount of virus in the body, Vemlidy helps to manage the infection and prevent complications associated with chronic hepatitis B.
