Temovate/ Olux / Dermovate (
generic name: clobetasol) is a
very potent corticosteroid used for short-term treatment of inflammatory skin and scalp conditions that do not respond to milder corticosteroids. It is available in three forms:
ointment,
cream, and
scalp application, each containing
0.05% clobetasol propionate.
Clobetasol can help reduce inflammation and itching in severe dermatologic conditions, providing relief where other treatments have been unsuccessful. It is typically used for
psoriasis (except widespread plaque type),
lichen planus,
discoid lupus erythematosus, and
recalcitrant dermatoses.
Temovate/ Olux / Dermovate Ointment
This ointment is suitable for dry, scaly, or thickened skin lesions. It is formulated in a greasy base that locks in moisture and enhances the absorption of the steroid.
Temovate/ Olux / Dermovate Cream
This cream is intended for use on moist or weeping lesions and areas where a less greasy formulation is preferred, such as the face or skin folds.
Temovate/ Olux / Dermovate Scalp Application
This scalp formulation is specifically designed for inflammatory scalp conditions such as psoriasis and severe dermatitis.
