If you experience swelling of the face (particularly around the mouth, throat, and tongue), rash or hives, breathing difficulty, and/or a sudden feeling of faintness, stop using Symbicort and refer to a doctor immediately.Â
Very common side effects:
- Heart palpitations, shaking, or trembling.
- Mild sore throat
- Mouth sores (less likely to occur if the mouth is washed after every use).
- Headache
- Pneumonia
Other side effects may include:
Dizziness, disturbed sleep, restlessness, muscle cramps, blurred vision, and burning of the skin.
Consult a healthcare provider if you experience these or other unexpected effects.
Symbicort is a medicine used to treat asthma in adults over the age of 12. It may also be prescribed to patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who are older than 18.Â
