Contact a doctor immediately if any of these side effects are experienced:

• Rash
• Muscle spasms in the neck, jaw and back
• Shuffling walk
• Slow or difficult speech
• Uncontrollable shaking of a body part
• Difficulty breathing or swallowing
• Yellowing of the eyes or skin
• Flu-like symptoms. Sore throat, chills, or fever
• Irregular heartbeat

The most common side effects may include:

• Nausea
• Changes in appetite (may lead to changes in weight)
• Excessive sweating
• Drowsiness, tiredness or weakness
• Dry mouth
• Nightmares
• Heightened sensitivity of skin to sunlight
• Difficulty with urination, frequent urination
• Constipation
• Blurred vision
• Changes in libido

Ludiomil is indicated for the treatment of certain depression disorders: major depressive disorder (MDD) and persistent depressive disorder (depressive neurosis).

Ludiomil may also be used to treat anxiety as a symptom of depression.

Ludiomil contains the active ingredient maprotiline, which is part of the drug group called tetracyclic antidepressants. It works by blocking the reabsorption of norepinephrine in the nerve cells, leading to an increase in the amount and effectiveness of norepinephrine activity in the brain.
