Iopidine eye drops contain the active ingredient apraclonidine, an alpha-adrenergic agonist. This medication is used as a conjunctive short-term treatment to help lower eye pressure in patients with glaucoma and delay the need for laser eye surgery and glaucoma surgery.
If vision decreases immediately after using this medication, stop using it and refer to a doctor.
Refer to a doctor immediately if an allergic reaction is experienced:
- Severe redness, itchiness, or discomfort in the eye
- Swelling of the eye or eyelid
- TearingÂ
- Reduction in vision
The most common side effects may include the following:
- Redness or itchiness of the eye
- Eye infection
- Swelling of the eyelid
- Tearing
- A feeling of a foreign object in the eye
- Dry eye
- Dry mouthÂ
- Dermatitis
- Dryness in the nose
- Headache
- Unusual taste in the mouth
