Hylo Comod (generic name: hyaluronic acid) dry eye treatment is a preservative-free ophthalmic solution designed to improve lubrication of the ocular surface in individuals experiencing symptoms of dry eye syndrome, burning sensations, or foreign body sensations triggered by environmental stressors or following ophthalmic procedures. As a vision care product, it delivers a stabilizing and long-lasting moisture film across the eye’s surface, mimicking the protective properties of the natural tear film without impairing visual clarity, similar to artificial tears..

The core ingredient, sodium hyaluronate at a concentration of 1 mg/ml, is a biocompatible substance naturally found in the eye and other parts of the body. Due to its viscoelastic and hydrophilic properties, it forms a regular, stable, and long-acting layer that retains moisture and supports corneal healing. This makes Hylo Comod particularly effective in restoring tear film stability after laser eye surgery, cataract operations, or in cases of prolonged screen exposure and environments with air conditioning.

Hylo Comod provides eye lubrication that is compatible with contact lenses and does not form deposits or crusts. Its unique COMOD® dosing system ensures precise, sterile, and uniform drop delivery without requiring preservatives or phosphates, factors that reduce the risk of hypersensitivity reactions and corneal calcification. The formulation is also suitable for children, pregnant individuals, and breastfeeding women, based on current evidence.

Dosage

Use as directed by the prescribing eye care professional. The usual daily eye care useage is to instill 1–2 drops in the affected eye(s), up to 10 times daily. Always wash hands and gently shake the bottle before use.

For contact lens wearers, remove lenses before application, wait 10 minutes after instilling dropsbefore reinserting the lenses.

Avoid touching the bottle tip to any surface to maintain sterility. Use each bottle for a maximum of 6 months after first opening.

Storage

Store at room temperature, away from direct light. Keep the container tightly closed and discard any unused solution or the whole bottle if it turns cloudy or changes color.

Most people who use Hylo Comod do not experience any adverse side effects. Doctors prescribe this medication because they assess the benefits of such treatment outweigh any likely unwanted effects.

Some of the side effects that have been reported include transient blurring or itching after instillation; mild burning/stinging, which usually resolves quickly. If eye symptoms worsen or persist, or pink eye (conjunctivitis), eye pain, or visual changes occur, discontinue use and consult a physician.

Not all side effects are listed here. If these or other unlisted symptoms persist or worsen, consult a healthcare provider or pharmacist.

Hylo Comod is an eye lubricant suitable for:

  • Dry eye syndrome

  • Ocular surface irritation

  • Post‑procedural corneal healing support (e.g. LASIK, cataract surgery)

  • Environmental or screen‑related eye discomfort

  • Contact lens–induced dryness

  • Yes. It is compatible with soft lenses. Hard lenses should be removed, then lubricant instilled before reinsertion
