Bezalip, also known as Norlip, is a medication containing bezafibrate, an antilipemic agent that helps lower levels of lipids such as LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and increases HDL cholesterol in the blood.
High levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood may lead to serious health conditions such as heart attack, stroke, and buildup of plaque in the arteries.
If these serious side effects are experienced, contact a doctor immediately:
- Allergic reaction
- Signs of Steven-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis
- Signs of rhabdomyolysisÂ
- Signs of liver failure or urination difficulties
- Signs of pancreatitis

- Headache
- Indigestion
- Weakness
- Sleepiness and trouble sleeping
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Constipation
- Muscle pain
- Itchiness of the skin, rash

Bezalip is a medication indicated for the treatment of high blood lipid levels, including triglycerides and cholesterol.Â
Bezalip may be used as a primary treatment for lowering the levels of triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood if diet changes haven’t helped or treatment with statins hasn’t been successful.
Benzalip may also be prescribed as a secondary treatment for lowering levels of triglycerides in addition to treatment with other statins.
