Parkinson’s disease: Parkinson’s disease affects people differently. Usually starting on one side of the body, the symptoms can include rhythmic shaking (tremor), slowed movement (bradykinesia), muscle stiffness, balance problems, and a stooped posture. People may also have trouble with automatic movements like blinking or smiling, experience changes in speech, and find writing difficult and small. Diagnosing Parkinson’s involves evaluating an individual’s medical background, assessing symptoms, and conducting neurological and physical examinations.
