Prolensa (bromfenac) is prescribed to patients who are undergoing cataract surgery. Its action is to limit post-operative inflammation and to relieve pain. Bromfenac belongs to the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) group.
Usage
Only use Prolensa as prescribed by the doctor. The standard dose is one drop in the eye being operated on in the evening prior to surgery and once each day for 14 days post-surgery. Even if the pain or inflammation subsides, the full dose should be taken.

Most people who use Prolensa do not experience any negative side effects. Doctors prescribe Prolensa because they assess that the benefits of such treatment outweigh any likely unwanted effects.
Very few side effects have been reported. There may be headaches, vitreous floaters, iritis, pain, or ocular
hypertension. These should clear up as soon as the drops are not used post-surgery.
Not all side effects are listed here. If these or other unlisted symptoms persist or worsen, consult a healthcare provider or pharmacist.
Prolensa only for use as directed by an ophthalmologist immediately before and after surgery for cataract removal.
