Oracea, or Efracea (generic name), is a medication that contains a tetracycline called doxycycline monohydrate, which acts as the active ingredient in this medication. Oracea is used to treat pimples and bumps caused by a skin condition called rosacea that causes long-term skin reddening or flushing. Oracea is not indicated for the treatment of redness of the skin.
The most common side effects may include:
- Inflammation of the sinuses, the throat, and the nose
- Fungal infection
- Sinus headache
- Anxiety
- DiarrheaÂ
- Increase in blood pressure
- Pain in the upper abdomen
- Back pain
- Dry mouth
- Changes in certain blood tests, such as the amount of glucose and liver function tests

- Over four months pregnant
