Common questions about Ebglyss
What is the main cause of atopic eczema?
Researchers now believe that defective genes that control a specific protein that helps the body maintain a healthy layer of skin may be the root cause of atopic dermatitis (eczema). When this protein is missing, skin barriers change, allowing moisture to escape and exposing the immune system to irritants.
What is the difference between eczema and atopic eczema?
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is an inflammatory skin condition and the most common type of eczema. AD is often associated with other atopic conditions, including hay fever and asthma.
