Administration of a solution containing 0.09% cyclosporine solution helps produce more natural tears. A relapse of symptoms may occur if treatment with cyclosporine eye drops such as Cequa is discontinued. Cequa is normally prescribed to be used for at least about six months, and full-time use is common.

Cequa is not a steroid medication. The cyclosporine solution in Cequa is classified as a calcineurin inhibitor.

How often can I apply Cequa eyedrops?

Follow the prescribing doctor's instructions. The standard dosage is one drop of Cequa twice daily, with a gap of approximately 12 hours. Insert the drop into each eye using the single-use vial. It should be administered immediately after opening, and the remaining contents should be discarded immediately after use.

Dosage

Follow the prescribing doctor’s instructions. Cequa should not be used while wearing contact lenses. If contact lenses are worn, they should be removed before applying the medications. The lenses can be reinserted 15 minutes following the administration of the medicine into the eye. Each box contains 60 single-dose vials of 0.25 ml.
