Beconase Aqueous Nasal Spray / Beclomethasone Nasal Spray (generic name: beclomethasone) can be prescribed to prevent and treat seasonal and year-round allergy symptoms, including runny or stuffy nose, itchy eyes, nose, and throat, and sneezing. It can also reduce reactions to external stimuli, such as perfumes or cigarette smoke. It’s also used to prevent any growths in the nose (nasal polyps) from recurring after they’ve been surgically removed.
Beconase is a member of the corticosteroid pharmacological class. It functions by reducing nasal swelling or inflammation.
Dosage
The dosage and manner of treatment is prescribed by the doctor.
The usual dose for patients of all ages who received no previous systemic steroid is two applications into each nostril twice daily. It is recommended that the maximum daily dose should not exceed 12 applications in adults and eight applications in children. Children should use Beconase under the supervision of an adult who is aware of proper use.
Storage
The medication should be stored at a temperature between 15°C/59°F to 30°C/86°F and protected from the heat and light. Refrigeration should be avoided.
