Azarga is used to reduce intra-ocular pressure (IOP, pressure inside the eye). It is used in adults with open-angle glaucoma (a disease where the pressure in the eye rises because fluid cannot drain out of the eye) or ocular hypertension (when the pressure in the eye is higher than normal). Azarga is used when treatment with a medicine containing only one active substance has been tried but has not reduced the IOP sufficiently.
Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:
- coughing, shortness of breath, troubled breathing, tightness in the chest, or wheezing.
- decreased blood pressure.
- dizziness.
- eye pain.
- itching or swelling of the eye.
- lightheadedness or fainting.
- skin rash.
AZARGA® (brinzolamide/timolol ophthalmic suspension) is indicated for the reduction of intraocular pressure (IOP) in adult patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension for whom monotherapy provides insufficient IOP reduction and when the use of AZARGA is considered appropriate.
