Symbicort® (budesonide and formoterol) is a steroid that works to relax inflamed muscles in the airways to improve breathing in sufferers of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Each Symbicort inhaler contains 120 inhalation doses.

If swelling of the face (particularly around the mouth, throat, and tongue), rash or hives, breathing difficulty, and/or a sudden feeling of faintness are experienced, stop using Symbicort and refer to a doctor immediately.
Very common side effects:
- Heart palpitations, shaking, or trembling.
- Mild sore throat
- Mouth sores (less likely to occur if the mouth is washed after every use).
- Headache
- Pneumonia
Other side effects may include:
Dizziness, disturbed sleep, restlessness, muscle cramps, blurred vision, and burning of the skin.
