The most common side effects may include:

• Erectile dysfunction
• Low libido
• Gynecomastia – enlargement or tenderness in the breast 
• Ejaculation dysfunction
• When taken with tamsulosin, Avodart can cause dizziness

Avodart is a drug used to treat men with a non-cancerous enlarged prostate, AKA benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This condition is caused by producing too much of a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Avodart contains an active ingredient called dutasteride, a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor that helps reduce the production of DHT. 

Avodart is used to help with urinary system problems, shrinking the prostate and relieving any related symptoms, as well as reducing the risk of acute urinary retention and the need for BPH-related surgery.
