The most common side effects are:

• Bleeding more easily than normal or that takes longer than usual to stop
• Frequent nosebleeds,
• Bruising more easily
• Problems with digestion, such as diarrhea, stomach pain, indigestion or heartburn

If these symptoms persist or worsen, talk to a doctor or pharmacist.

Some rare but serious side effects require medical attention as soon as possible, such as:

• Coughing up or vomiting blood
• Blood in the urine or stools
• Color changes in the whites of the eyes or skin (turn to yellow). These can be signs of liver problems.
• Feelings of exhaustion
• Having signs of infection, such as high temperature or a sore throat. These may be an indication of a blood or bone marrow disorder.

In very rare cases, clopidogrel can cause a serious allergic reaction called anaphylaxis. If any symptoms like swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat; problems breathing or swallowing; severe rash or itching; fainting or feeling dizzy; or very rapid heartbeat are felt, get medical help immediately. Call 911 or go directly to an emergency center, taking the box of Praxis with you.

Plavix is primarily prescribed for people who suffer from specific heart or blood vessel conditions, such as having had:

• A previous heart attack
• A diagnosis of unstable angina
• A prior transient ischaemic attack (TIA) – stroke or mini-stroke
• A diagnosis of peripheral arterial disease
• Undergone surgery on the heart or blood vessels, such as insertion of a coronary stent.

Its function is to lower the risk of blood clots forming in the blood vessels leading into the heart, which can cause a heart attack and bouts of angina, and into the brain, which can cause a stroke.
