Nizoral Cream (generic name: ketoconazole) is a topical antifungal medication used to treat fungal skin infections such as athlete’s foot, ringworm, jock itch, and certain types of seborrheic dermatitis. Ketoconazole belongs to the group of medicines known as imidazole antifungals. It works by blocking the production of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, which causes the fungi to weaken and die. By eliminating the infection, it reduces itching, redness, scaling, and inflammation on the skin. Usual dosage

It is important to follow the dosage instructions printed on the label of the box.   For most fungal skin infections, Nizoral Cream is applied in a thin layer to the affected skin once or twice daily. Treatment usually lasts 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the type of infection. In seborrheic dermatitis, longer or repeated courses may be necessary. Wash and dry the affected area before applying, and spread the cream evenly, covering the skin around the lesion as well. Wash hands after each use to avoid spreading the infection. If a dose is missed, apply it as soon as remembered unless it is close to the next scheduled dose. Do not double dose. Important: continue applying Nizoral Cream for the full prescribed course, even if symptoms improve earlier, to prevent the infection from returning.

Standard storage

Store Nizoral Cream at 15-30 °C (59-86 °F). Keep the tube tightly closed, away from direct heat and light. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use beyond the expiry date, which refers to the last day of the month printed on the package.
