Viagra Connect (generic name: sildenafil) and Cialis Together (generic name: tadalafil) are over-the-counter forms of the prescription drugs Viagra and Cialis that can be used to treat erectile dysfunction. They are manufactured in the United Kingdom. Both sildenafil and tadalafil are based on the phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor, which acts by relaxing blood vessels in the penis.
Viagra Connect is a single-strength pill that contains 50 mg of sildenafil. Cialis Together is a single-strength pill that contains 10 mg of tadalafil.
Sildenafil and tadalafil work to increase blood flow into the penis when a man is sexually aroused to produce a stronger erection. Viagra Connect starts to work after one hour, and the erections can last 3-4 hours. Cialis Together usually works faster, producing an erection within half an hour. Cialis is known as the “weekend pill” because erections can last for up to 36 hours.
Cialis Together should be taken up to half an hour before sex is planned, and not more than once each day. Viagra Connect should be taken between one to four hours before sex is planned, but not more than once each day.

Common side effects of sildenafil include dizziness, redness of the face, gastrointestinal disturbances, nasal congestion, visual changes (seeing color changes, blurring, visual disturbances), nausea, and hot flashes.

Tadalafil has been associated with prolonged erections or priapism (painful erections lasting more than 6 hours). Men should seek immediate medical attention if they experience an erection lasting for more than 4 hours.
