The Estradot trasndermal patch provides hormone replacement therapy for the treatment vasomotor symptoms or vulvar and vaginal atrophy and the prevention of osteoporosis in women who have natural or surgically induced menopause.
Hypoestrogenism is an umbrella term used to describe the effects of estrogen deficiency. The main results of estrogen deficiency are menopause, vulvar and vaginal atrophy and increased risk of osteoporosis.
Primary ovarian insufficiency is usually incurable. Most women with POI take long-term hormone replacement therapy using Estradot to manage the symptoms and reduce the risk of hypoestrogenism.
Follow the instructions on the leaflet that came with the patches. Stick the patch onto an area of hair-free skin on the thigh or buttocks. Do not put the patch on the breasts. Try to avoiding using the same spot when applying the patch, but rather to rotate the spots regularly,
Try to not use the same spot for at least a fortnight after removing a patch. There can be some skin irritation or redness under the patch after its removal, so switching spots can avoid further irritation.
